TKRP WORKSHOP

About the TKRP workshop

It all started in 1994, when the first Ten Kate racing bike was built for the Dutch national championship. Since then we have built over a thousand racing bikes for customers all over the world, and we have won 12 world titles in total in Supersport and Superbike.

But where and how are these world famous bikes being built, and which other things are happening in the workshop on a daily basis? On this page you can get a little behind-the-scenes look on the activities of the engineers in the TKRP Workshop!

Building bikes

The TKRP workshop is where every Ten Kate racing bike is being born. From a world level supersport or superbike to a bike solely for track day riding. No matter the specs, the details are looked after on every Ten Kate bike!

In 2019 our World Superbike team switched from Honda to Yamaha machinery. Ten Kate Racing Products then became one of the few official GYTR Pro-Shop in Europe and we started building more Yamaha bikes for customers. By racing in all classes of the 2020 WorldSBK season our engineers extensively expanded their knowledge on the blue bikes and by now they know them inside and out.

Apart from our world championship bikes, we also build bikes for track day riders, teams and even complete championships all over the world. For example the Yamaha R3 Cup/Challenge bikes and all twelve Yamaha YZF-R6 bikes of the QMMF Supersport 600 Championship in Qatar are built by Ten Kate Racing Products.

To share the important information we gathered througout the years, every sold Ten Kate racing bike is being accompanied with a special manual to correctly set-up the bike.

Bike / Parts development

With our vast experience of developing racing bikes in WorldSBK and WorldSSP, our mechanics know exactly what is needed to prepare a bike that is capable of showing the true potential of a rider. Therefore we often need to develop and produce parts ourselves, simply because we found a not yet existing solution for a problem or something that can be optimized.

We also work together narrowly with a lot of our suppliers to optimize every aspect of the bike. This leads to very close partnerships and the best possible products for our customers.

When a brand new bike comes in it usually only has a few minutes to shine in the showroom before our mechanics will completely tear it apart. They are always looking for any possibility to optimize the bike within championship regulations.

Problem solving

Racing can be a matter of luck, and sometimes there is a lot of bad luck. In all those years of racing and building bikes we have come across a lot of problems. From electronic malfunctions to mufflers hitting the track at high lean angles. But all this experience comes in very handy when a customer is experiencing any kind of problems of his own.

These problems are often familiar to our engineers, so they can be solved quickly. In some cases though, the problem is harder to find and needs our engineers to take a good look. But in the end they always manage to find a solution and get the customer back on track!
